When enligthenement met the psyche

I am thinking of "Facing Gaia" and the image Latour often draws and now finds other expressions too (https://twitter.com/AIMEproject/status/800714136837619714)

A triangle having Land in the one corner, then Globe in the top and perhaps Gaia in the side

Analogies are helpful but aslo dangerous guides. However I thought of using the analogy with another meeting: Enlightenment meeting Freud and his psyche

And that was it fot the nice image of the well-ordered enlightened soul (science and education have delivered massive blows on the enlightenment project and its pragmatic potential over the past century- poignant when it was comming from beloved children).

If "the enlightened soul" was the equivalent of the Globe and the "old subjectivity" the equivalent of the old Land, we can think of what we have learned in the in between. As an outsider these are some of the things that I think we learned
a) diversity. Humans are very diverse both in their past and its ifluence and in various dimensions of personality
b) the importance of the ordering influence of the competent psychotherapist
c) the importance of the system's viewpoint. The insights from family therapy
d) "real therapeutic work happens between the sessions". The significance of the initiative and reflection and work of each human being
e) the supporting function of common people among themselves

What does this tells us with respect to meeting Gaia? I make a try
a) Can we accept many natures? Can we accept the many amalgams of "nature-culture"? This means that we cannot have one utility function to be maximized (which I think is one point in [MOR]) . This means that the common good cannot be calculated once and for all by some super culture and then fed to the rest
b) could we have culture-natures that work as signposts? As participants in encounters that keep sane the rest as well
c) , d) In a process of ongoing negotiations can nature-cultures listen to each other? Can their interaction be facilitated? Will they be willing to control themselves? To cut down opportunities rather than just going after any possible dream? Will they be willing to reflect?
e) Under what name will all these naure-cultures cohabitate?

What are the possibilities for something like that to happen? Without things going along in their bitter end?
There is a challenge
John 3:19
